Mount Pleasant
April 25, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 39 (9 months)Howdy Amigos!!!🤠
Here's our week:
ALICIA
We had an absolutely beautiful lesson with Alicia. We had both been prompted to read Mosiah 18 with her and it was so cool. We extended the invitation of baptism but she is praying to take that step. She said "I don't know why but I'm really excited." And she really wants to come to church!😊
SOCCER
We met this guy downtown and turns out I have been talking to him on Facebook! He also came to soccer this week which was so fun!!!
EXCHANGES
I finally got to go to Tyler. I went at the beginning of my mission with my trainer but I finally got to go back! I forgot how busy the city is... it was good though! Got to be with Sister Cook😎
SHENANIGANS
I led district council last week and it actually wasn't too shabby. We also lost another bet and have to get water balloons thrown at us today... that's lovely.
Sorry not much I want to say this week but the pictures will explain a little more.
Love,
Hermana Cutler

April 18, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 38-Happy Late Easter!🐰🐥💐
Hi friends,
Happy late Easter everyone! Such a wonderful time of the year and I'm so grateful for all of the opportunities I had to share about Jesus Christ and His resurrection. There's a video created from the church that is so powerful and everytime we watched it I could feel the spirit and His love so strong.
MIRACLE
There's this neighborhood sister hornberger really wanted to visit and so we did and we prayed about which direction to go. We both had the same feeling and we ended up at this cute little yellow house. We met this family and their mom only spoke Spanish so we were able to share the Easter video with them and we gave them a spanish Book of Mormon.

CHURCH
Saúl came to church again! Cirilo (English class student) watched a link which was awesome! I spoke in spanish church about the Living Christ and His Resurrection.

This week should be good! I lost another bet so now I have to conduct district council tomorrow... We'll see how it goes! My finger is also still messed up but we shall see how it is this week.
Y'all are the best!

April 11, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 37-The Hippy Sisters
Hi everyone!!
Hi everyone!!
Okay long week. Here it is.
SO it all started with transfers. Sister Hornberger and I were thriving with all the goals we made and we want to be SO creative!! We're loving it. Also this is random but remember Hermana Peterson?? She's my sister training leader!! Which means we get to go on exchanges together. I'm so excited!! Sister Bruce is also in a trio now with Sister Barratt (from utah) and Sister Rudd (from california/brand new to the mission/turns out we took anatomy together at Dixie State!).
CRAZINESS
I'll try to keep this short and sweet but basically sister hornberger and I are now Spanish Zone Reps for our Facebook page in the mission. I don't know much about it and I'm training her so that's lovely but it's working out. We also got asked to be the Photo team for the English page and THEN got asked to be English Connect zone reps so that's fun. Wish us luck! I'm also the only Spanish sister for both our bilingual areas so whenever the other sisters have a lesson in spanish I'll probably be going with. Kinda crazy! A little stressful at times but we're doing our best to rely on the lord (:
MIRACLES
Okay we had INCREDIBLE miracles this week. God's timing is so perfect. We called Alicia and she needed us at that exact time. THEN another miracle was meeting this guy named Eligio at the gas station who was so nice and we gave him a pass along card with the church address. FINALLY sis H and I felt like God had someone waiting for us one night. After leaving many different parks we went to super bueno and handed out cards. Then we decided to wait a few more mins instead of going home and we met this really cool guy in the parking lot named José! He was SO COOL and even wants to come to church with us!!
ENGLISH CONNECT
One of our members invited someone to English class and he came! Then he brought a friend and that friend also brought a friend! Milagros!
Okay that's all I got. Love y'all so much!
-Hermana Cutler
P.s. a member called us the Hippy Sisters because of our floral dresses (:

April 4, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 36-"Ma'am...oiselle"
Hi everyone!
As predicted, Sister hornberger and I are staying in Mount Pleasant!! Fun little twist, Sister Bruce is going to be getting two new companions, Sister Barratt, and a missionary they will be training! So exciting!! Also crazy... I'm the oldest one in the apartment. Never saw that coming.
ANIMAL SHELTER
We got to start volunteering at the animal shelter this week! We gave two dogs a bath and played with them outside. There's this one dog who is so sweet. I named her "peaches" and I would love to adopt her one day. We also went to a members house to take care of her puppies.
GENERAL CONFERENCE
Incredible talks given at general conference. One that really stood out to me was Henry B. Eyring talking about how being a child doesn't not mean to be childish. It is simply someone who is humble and loving. We are God's children and we turn to Him for help and that is perfectly okay.
We watched each session at a different members house. Our friend Anderson, that we are teaching, joined us Sunday morning and even brought popcorn. We also watched the last session in spanish with our friends at the church and that was really cool.
SAÚL
Spectacular miracle with Saúl this week. We were all sharing pivotal experiences in our lives and he shared something very personal with us and explained how he has come to realize that God's timing is powerful and that we've been sent to him as messengers from God.
There were so many wonderful insights this week and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve my Heavenly Father. I love all of you!

Hi everyone!
This week was pretty long. We had interviews with President and Sister Seitz which were wonderful and some awesome trainings about Diligence and asking inspired questions through the spirit.
SOCCER//CHURCH TOUR
Yeah that's right soccer is back. Sis. Hornberger said Mario (from facebook) wants to play soccer and I've been trying to make this happen for a while now so we finally got it started! We had our 3 English class students (Jesús, Cirilo, y Sylvia) come and our Spanish teacher (Saúl) and Mario. We also gave Mario a tour of the church which went really well and Saúl stayed for it to critique our Spanish.
EVANGELINA & MARIA
We met with Evangelina this week and it went really well. She knows the Book of Mormon is true and is continuing to read it. She has some other beliefs but her and Maria are praying about baptism.
ZACH
We met with Zach again this week and we talked about the restoration and gave him a book of Mormon to read. It was cool because he even said he was going to study it and mark up some scriptures and questions he has for next time.
SERVICE
This week we basically remodeled a room for this little girl in our ward. We started from square one and they handed us the equipment and we said alright let's do this. Hopefully we did a good job and the painting looks good.
THE BUHMANS
We ate with the Buhmans this week and we discussed compensatory promised blessings in our lives. It was really cool to reflect and think about those experiences and the angels that we have felt throughout every moment.
BLESSINGS
Some up and down moments this week but here are some blessings I've learned to recognize...
-My mom sent me a ukulele. I broke it. But I fixed it today.
-We saw cirilo at Super Bueno and he bought us flan. We brought it to english class.
-Zach's cousin was listening to our lesson and making comments.
-Pink Day: All three of us wore the color pink for Hna Allred's 18 month mark.
-Gaspar wasn't actually avoiding us and we had a lesson with him
-Saúl came to church
-Reciting the first vision to Mario y Saúl
-we got a new car 🚗

March 14, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 33-Mi Costilla
Hello everyone!
Nothing special this week. Let's get into it.
ALICIA
We met with Alicia and talked about the gospel of Jesus christ and read 3 nephi 11 together. We invited her to church and even set up a time for her to meet some members from our ward beforehand but we think she got a little nervous so we will see how it goes this week.
PUPPIES
We called the animal shelter and sent in applications to volunteer and play with the animals so we're going on Wednesday (: ALSO we had dinner with the Hanna's this week and they breed puppies so we got to see them too!
SOCCER
Another success!! Cirilo brought his nephews and his brother too this week. Then one of our members, Brandon, joined and Saúl.
CHURCH
Speaking of Saúl, he came to English and Spanish church this weekend to support the hermanas since they go home in a week. Crazy!
MIRACLE
We were walking in this neighborhood and sister hornberger goes "let's stop by this house" and long story short this guy let's us come in to meet his wife who can't walk and is in need of prayers. We shared Psalms 147:3-5 and said a prayer with her. We're going back this week.
I know God is real. I don't say that to convince you but I say that because I know it's true for myself. When you attempt speaking to Him through prayer you can know for yourself too. Here's a beautiful talk I listened to this week called "our father's glorious plan." *attached below*
Stay tuned for transfer news next week! My guess is sister hornberger and I will stay together.

Hi everyone!!
This week was random but pretty good (: miracles coming from every direction.
MIRACLE
Remember Williams? We have been trying to set up a lesson with him and one night we were at the laundry mat sending texts to all of our friends and he showed up!! He was like Hermanas why are you here?? And we were like uh well we don't know but hey let's read the scriptures😅 so we did and it was wonderful.
PROUD MOMMA MOMENT
Sister Hornberger called a former named Keith and she talked to him for a while about Jesus Christ and His atonement. We invited him to read Alma 7 and are calling back on Tuesday. Sis. Hornberger is so good at connecting with people and im so lucky to have her as a companion!
PERSONAL STUDY
Okay hear me out, Hispanics always say "mi costilla" which means "my rib" when talking about their significant other and I've been trying to figure this out for so long and THEN I realized in the Bible it talks about how God took the rib of Adam to create a woman (Eve) and I'm pretty sure that's why they say it!! Let me know if you have thoughts.
CHURCH
Saúl (Spanish professor) came to church again!! I was speaking and after I asked him how he did and he pulled out his notes and said, do you want me to be honest?😂 it's okay though because my score was a 9.0.

Buenos días amigos,
This week was pretty good but kind of weird. Definitely some up and down moments and new stories to tell!
GASPAR
This lesson was exactly what needed to happen. We decided to be bold with him and we discussed the word of wisdom and the blessings that we recieve from it and then we talked about baptism and the importance of taking those steps closer to our Heavenly Father. He is going to pray about it to see if that's the decision he wants to make.
CIPRIANO
On Sunday we had our friend Cipriano come to our grupo which was awesome! The sisters also had someone from Facebook named Fernando join us as well!
SERVICE
We did a lot of random service this week. We went to Cypress Basin and helped bring a recliner into the store! Then helped a couple different families move out of their houses and storage units. On Friday we made cookies and dropped them off that night to a few of our friends and members from the grupo.
CHINESE BUFFET
We ate with some members at a Chinese restaurant and in the middle of the spiritual thought Hermana Perschon goes "brother covarruvius, can you give me a blessing? I can't breathe very well." So he gave her a blessing in the middle of the restaurant and then she took some benadryl & everything was okay! Just some cross contamination with the shrimp she's allergic to.
CHOPPED
We were asked to be the judges for a chopped competition at a youth activity and that was pretty fun! The young women won haha but the young men made a pretty good smores dessert.
Everything is going good here. We cut sister hornbergers hair today and it's really short... but looks so good!! Sister Bruce might trim mine too. Looking forward to this week with zone conference & exchanges! I'll keep you posted (: I love you guys!

February 28, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 31-English Speaking?
*gets our English speaking trainee*
*Hna Allred and I look at each other blankly*
Me: So here's the thing. Everyone we're teaching speaks Spanish...
Hna Allred: ...
Trainee: Awesome!! I'm ready to learn!
Sister Hornberger is the absolute cutest. She is from Southern Idaho- Preston to be exact (where napoleon dynamite was filmed). She plays the piano and is SO ready to be a missionary!! Little does she know she's actually my trainer. Or maybe she does lol.
TRANSFERS
We dressed for sunny and warm weather and it turned out to be freezing and windy. It was so fun seeing my friends again. I definitely almost cried giving Hermana Peterson a hug and saying goodbye to Hermana Bean. Not everyone was there which honestly made me really really sad. After, we went to Buccees (popular Texas gas station) so we both could see it for the first time and it was pretty cool! I got a really sweet t-shirt!!
ERIBERTO
We met with Eriberto this week and he shared his experiences of coming to the US and it was incredible. He shared about being alone and turning to God in prayer. This added to my testimony because I know God listens to us and visits his children in their afflictions. Mosiah 24:14. Sister Hornberger had a wonderful insight this week about afflictions and how in the scriptures the foot note describes it as blessings. How have you seen blessings from the trails you go through?
LA OBRA
The weather wasn't bad in Mount Pleasant but the mission was inside again for a couple days. Gave us time to call a lot of people and share scriptures and set up times to meet with them again. We may have ended up playing phase 10 while listening to a devotional at one point. Sister Cook also came here since the other sisters had exchanges and it was sooo fun.
LAS CLASES DE INGLÉS
This week I shared a scripture after English class and all three of them stayed which was awesome. We talked about what God means to us.
UN MOMENTO DIVERTIDO
After sharing our spiritual message at a members house, we ate this sweet bread and I realized it was moldy so I told Sister Bruce and she continued to eat it as Hermana Aguilar was looking right at her. She then realized it and all 20 of us had a good laugh...
This week was good. We also found an outdoor service opportunity which I'm very excited about it. We're going to set up a barb wire fence at the Brady's house.
I love all of you! Have an awesome week🌻❤

February 21, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 30-Guess What- Transfer Week
Hi everyone!!
Okay this was definitely one of the longest weeks on my mission considering my companion got sick and then I got sick but all is well because I have exciting news!!!
TRANSFER NEWS
We got transfers news last night and I'm going to be training a brand new missionary in spanish!! I'm SO excited!! I'm also going to be "killing off" Hna Allred (This is her last transfer before she goes home). So we'll be in a trio here in Mount Pleasant! We find out who our trainee is tomorrow!
MIRACLE
ALSO exciting news from Plano!! Remember Francisco's brother, john?? He got baptized last week!! I was able to zoom in and watch which was really cool.
THE CANNONS
Okay the Cannons are the kindest people you will ever meet. I finally got to try Chicken Fried Steak at their house and we learned how to make it. So good!
ANOTHER MIRACLE
We were trying to decide where to do our daily contacting one night and we decided to go to the laundry mat, nothing special. Long story short we met this guy named Owen and we talked to him for an hour about God's love. We gave him a book of Mormon and he justed started crying. I know that he just needed to be reminded of his worth and that he does have a Heavenly Father who loves him and listens to all of his prayers.
FACEBOOK
This transfer my testimony of Facebook work has grown so much. We've had so many amazing opportunities to teach people through Facebook and it's been amazing!
Today we're going to the Wilson's house and we get to see our district which is exciting! We thought for sure some of us were leaving but turns out we're getting two trainees! I'm so pumped for transfers because I get to see all my friends and say goodbye to Hna Bean as she's heading home! ): I'll keep you posted next week with pictures. I hope y'all have a wonderful week!

Hi everyone,
This week we were inside for a couple days due to the weather but we actually didn't get any snow like the other areas in our mission, but we did get some ice. We were able to focus on facebook and calling formers though which worked out really well.
EXCHANGES
Sister Hansen came to Mt Pleasant with me! SO FUN!! It was basically just us laughing the entire time but we had a really good lesson with Evangelina. I talked to her about priesthood blessings as well which was really cool. Sister Hansen even got to read a scripture in spanish! She was very excited about it. We also ate with the Nguyen family from the English ward. Their kids are the best. Ashley (7 yrs old) was just telling me jokes the entire time and it was adorable.
FAST SUNDAY
Church was amazing. Williams came to the spanish grupo with us! It was so sweet and he was so excited to be there. I was showing him the Hymns book and he was reading through them. We all got up to share our testimonies and THEN guess who was in the hallway listening to the service? That's right! Our Spanish tutor, Saúl!! We invited him to come hear all of us speaking Spanish so he could critique us and he showed up! It was actually really cool and he loved the idea that our church was in spanish! We invited him back next week since either hna Allred or I are speaking in church.
THE BUHMANS
We ate with the Buhman's this week and it was so spiritual. Sister Buhman asked us each to come up with a piece of advice for an age group she would assign us. Mine was adolescents and my answer was to trust in God and his plan for you. This is the age group of decision making so what's better than to know you have a loving Heavenly Father cheering you on. There's a reason for everything because His plan, even though it might be different than what you have made for yourself, is perfect.
ALICIA
Alicia is a miracle. We called her and she asked us to come over that night so we did and she opened up to us about her experiences and the spirit was definitely there and I know that she knows it too. We're going back this week.
STUCK INSIDE
We made a lot of valentines for the members in our ward and for people in the nursing home. I also took the keyboard from the church so I could play that while we were home all day. It also finally gave me time to paint my nails and I started knitting again! I'm making a scarf. We also walked to Walmart one day in the cold so that was exciting.
Sister Bruce and I are going on splits today and we are SO pumped!! We agreed that it feels like when your parents are out of town and the siblings get to hangout. Y'all are the best! Have a wonderful week💛
Love,
Hermana Cutler

Okay hear me out, Hispanics always say "mi costilla" which means "my rib" when talking about their significant other and I've been trying to figure this out for so long and THEN I realized in the Bible it talks about how God took the rib of Adam to create a woman (Eve) and I'm pretty sure that's why they say it!! Let me know if you have thoughts.
CHURCH
Saúl (Spanish professor) came to church again!! I was speaking and after I asked him how he did and he pulled out his notes and said, do you want me to be honest?😂 it's okay though because my score was a 9.0.
EXCHANGES
Sister Hornberger and I stayed with Sister Pilling and we went to Super Bueno and I taught them both how to street contact in spanish and they handed so many cards out which was so awesome!!
FUNNY MOMENT
At bingo this week a sweet older lady asked me if Sister hornberger was my daughter... definitely hesitated for a second and got a good laugh out of it!
This week was pretty fun and we found so many miracles. God really does answer our prayers and he puts people in the right place at the right time. I love y'all so much! Have a great week❤

March 7, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 32-Benadryl & Blessings

Funny moment:

February 14, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 29-Piedra, Papel, o Tijera
Hi everyone!
¡Feliz Día de San Valentín!❤ I hope all of you have a wonderful day with your friends and family. I just wanted to take the time to let y'all know how much our Heavenly Father loves you and how today is such a great opportunity to let your loved ones know how much they mean to you as well. The perfect day to do some service!
Sister Allred and I did rock papers scissors on Saturday to see who had to give the talk on Sunday in spanish church. I won but jokes on me because I still had to write a "plan B talk."
One of our missionaries gave a training last week on Charity & Love. They talked about having pure love for the people that you teach and seeing them through God's eyes. I focused on this a lot this week and as we talked to them I could just feel the amount of love that God has for His children. So special.
We met with Evangelina this week. Such a wonderful lesson. We even got to meet her husband, Polo and Maria joined us too! We talked about the power of prayer and read 3 Nephi 11 with them, talking about when Christ visited the people in the Américas. Polo was reading and we discussed the Book of Mormon and when we asked him about his impressions he said he was speechless and didn't know how to put his feelings into words. It was really cool to witness and I know God loves this family and has a plan in store for them.
Saúl (our Spanish tutor) came to church again which was incredible! We also had Javier come too who was taught in the past.
I just wanted to say that I'm so thankful for every single one of you. I know some of you aren't even part of my church but I really appreciate all of your support and for taking the time to read my emails. It means a lot! I hope y'all have a great week.
Con amor,
Hermana Cutler

January 31, 2022 Mount Pleasant, Texas Week 27 (6 months) Head Tacos & Elbow Soup
Hello hello!
We had a pretty good week! Started out by doing some service at Titus County Cares. We put some bags of food together for kids in need of it. Everyone else there were about in their 70s or 80s. It was pretty fun. I made lots of new friends and one of them kept showing me pictures of their grandchildren! It was sweet.
INTERVIEWS
We had interviews this week at district council! I also gave a training on the power of the spirit in conversion. I re-did it a few times in preparation. It was so much better than my first one which is good. I love having interviews with president and sister Seitz. It's always such an amazing opportunity to talk to them and feel the spirit.
LESSONS
We met with Martha this week and she said she loved the restoration pamphlet and asked if we had any more so we gave her some which was awesome!! Flor is praying about a date to be baptized (:
SPANISH TUTOR
Okay so basically we met this random guy on facebook who said he wants to be a spanish professor so we met up with him and he is going to start meeting with us weekly! Our homework is to send him a 1min video everyday of us just speaking Spanish. Yesterday I had to share a story from one of my soccer games. It was fun!
CHURCH
We had stake conference yesterday which was really good. One brother shared Alma 5:33 which I love. God extends the invitation to everyone. His arms are open and he wants you to turn to him. So powerful! I also spent some of language study writing and recording a song in spanish so that was exciting!
MY DREAM
I had a dream that my whole district was getting emergency transferred and I was sent to Quito North, Ecuador. The next day our DL called us and said one of the Elder companionships were getting ET'd in a day and they're closing that area! Crazy.
Spoiler for next week: we have a general authority coming to see us on Thursday at our zone conference and I'm really excited!! Stay tuned for next Monday.
That's it for now! Thanks for reading. I love you guys so much. Have a wonderful week!

Hello hello!
This week was so good!! We had the mission tour with Elder Lynn G. Robbins from the seventy! It was amazing and he is so powerful. He talked about a lot of different topics and they all hit a little too close to home. So good though!! He gave us really good advice about relationships and how being in a companionship right now will help you with your future spouse and children. He also talked about recognizing the spirit. What stood out to me was his comment about how we are always receiving revelation. Even underlining a scripture is us receiving revelation from God. Sister Robbins also talked to us about dignified language and I talked to her after, a little worried about saying something not dignified, but I think we're good haha.
LESSONS
We met with Evangelina this week! Her daughter was there too and it was amazing. We talked about Jesus Christ the entire time and it honestly was so special to be reminded of the love Christ has for us. In the talk Elder Robbins gave us it talks about Christ and how when he was on the cross he prayed to God saying, Father, please forgive these people for they know not for what they have done. This really stands out to me because Christ is so forgiving and kind and he's just the perfect example for us. Evangelina loved it as well and we are returning to meet with her this week.
SMORES
We had smores at the Cannon's house. The last time I had a smore was the night before I left on my mission with my family when we did a testimony meeting, so that was a really good reminder.
CHURCH
I said hi to hermano Machado before church and he said, hola hermana! Puede dar su testimonio hoy?😁 so little did I know he didn't have any speakers but all is well I think it was good. I'm grateful for any opportunity to share my testimony.
SPANISH
Saúl gave me some tongue twisters to do for my video this week. "Tres tristes tigres tragaban trigo en un trigal." It was fun. He also taught us about "los tacos de la cabeza" (Head tacos) and "La sopa del codo." (Elbow soup).
We had lots of English Class this week and I hit my 6 months in the mission... 1/3 of the way which is crazy. Well I love you guys and hope you have a wonderful week!

¡Hola hola!
First of all I would just like to say that it's snowing here and I have never seen such a perfect snowflake before. It's so cold and I'm also the designated driver since my comp is from AZ... Hna Allred is awesome and she is leading the area while I'm leading in the Spanish since she just started learning last transfer for this area!
My week was pretty good!! Mt. Pleasant is completely different from Plano but the more time I spend here the more I love it. It seems like there isn't a lot but even going down one little side road there's so much more. We are a bilingual area but everyone we are teaching speaks Spanish which is awesome! The English ward is so cool and I got to speak on Sunday for a bit and share my story of why I decided to serve my mission. We also had the Spanish group and there were about 10 of us on Sunday because everyone is getting sick. We are also in a quad with Hna Perschon & Sister Bruce who just got into the mission and it is so fun!!
LESSONS
I got to meet some amazing people this week. First was Martha and Sergio. They are so cool and we got to talk about the restoration with them. Brother & Sister Covarruvius joined us and his Spanish was pretty good so that was nice! I met Williams who is incredible! He is so nice and even brought us churros. I showed him Jacob 3:1-2 and he said it was an answer to his prayers so that was beautiful. The Hnas kept talking about how fast his Spanish was so I was a bit nervous but after praying a ton it went sooo well. We started teaching a lot of people this week so I'm really excited!
BINGO
We went to the nursing home this week and played Bingo with the Elderly which was so fun. It's definitely training me to speak louder too.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This week I read in Alma. He says in chapter 10 verse 5, "Nevertheless, after all this, I never have known much of the ways of the Lord, and his mysteries and marvelous power. I said I never had known much of these things; but behold, I mistake, for I have seen much of his mysteries and his marvelous power; yea, even in the preservation of the lives of this people." I love this because we don't know everything and sometimes we just need to trust in him and in the simple truths. Maybe we don't know all the mysteries of God but we can see them through his children. We can see the change in their lives as they turn to him with a full purpose in heart and seek his guidance. Who's someone in your life that you look up to? You should let them know.
I'm so grateful for our Heavenly Father and for his plan for us. I prayed a lot as I adjusted to this new area but I know there's a reason for everything and God knows what he's doing. I love you all! Have a wonderful week!
